Can a batch email be customized with the information such as the customers name? You can customize the email with information such as the customers name. For example if you wanted the top of the letter to say Dear John Smith, you would enter the token for name after the dear. The email would look something like this:
Dear ::Name::,
When the email is sent the token, ::Name::, would be replaced by the contacts name. If you are storing first and last name separately your token may look like this, ::FirstName::. To find the token names in your database click on the button that says “Insert Data Field“. In that button you will see a drop down of all the fields.
In a transactional email, email that is sent as a lead comes into the system, any field that is in the lead can be put inside the email. For a batch email, a email that is sent out to a target list at a scheduled time, fields that are in the contact record can be included. These fields include fields such as name, address, industry.
Before sending any live emails to customers make sure the fields you want are being included make sure to do a test.
- For a transactional email you can test using a leadguid on a live email test, or putting the project on override in the Marketing Resource Center and entering a few leads.
- To test a batch email send an email to a test list with your email as the override so all emails are sent to yourself and you can take a look at them carefully. If you need help please contact your GrowthPoint project manager.
